Many would say no trip to Liverpool is complete without indulging in a huge slice of retail therapy. And who could argue with that, given the amazing selection of stylish shopping centres, fashionable malls and arcades, trendy boutiques, quirky shops and bargain stores that combine to make Liverpool one of THE premier shopping destinations.
From high end glamour and fashion to the positively bohemian and handily discounted – if shopping is your passion, then the city is here to satiate you! And you’re never far from a bar, restaurant, café or snack shop when you feel like recharging your batteries.

Let’s start with Liverpool One – the size of 28 football pitches and the showpiece £1billion pound open air shopping complex in the heart of the city centre. It is consistently ranked as one of the city’s top attractions in its own right - everything a dedicated shopaholic could wish for! Divided into a fab four of shopping districts, Liverpool One includes over 160 high street favourites and top designer brands, including the only Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols in the country.
Metquarter, in Whitechapel, is home to a great selection of men’s and women’s fashion and beauty outlets such Hugo BOSS, A/X Armani Exchange and Jo Malone. The Metquarter also contains the only MAC beauty salon outside of London and is also just a stone’s throw away from all the main public transport and car parks.
Lonely Planet actually rated Bold Street, again in the heart of the city, as one of the best shopping streets in the entire country. With a great selection of independent stores selling everything from world foods to funky clothes, from records to art, check it out for yourself!

At Albert Dock on the waterfront, you can be rewarded for shopping locally with the Independent Liverpool Membership Card, which entitles you to deals and discounts at over 100 independent shops in Liverpool. Membership is £12 and is valid for 1 year.
Shopping outside the city centre also has much to offer too. New Mersey, located at Speke, is one of the nation's top shopping destinations. The park offers brands such as H&M, Next, Marks & Spencer, Outfit, and Currys PC World.
Meanwhile, Lark Lane, south of the city centre, is perhaps one of Liverpool’s best kept secrets and is full of bohemian boutiques and street markets.
