Book a Tour Guide or Driver Guide
One of our fun and fully insured tourist guides will bring your visit to life!
Brilliant Liverpool Tours only uses fun tour guides who are passionate about the region. Some of our tour guides have formal guiding qualifications, however our unique strength is being able to offer guides with very specific skills for example former Town Planners and Architects who are experts in Urban Regeneration, or guides who have worked professionally in Education, journalists and musicians who have a wide range of interests.
We always ensure that we provide a tour guide that is the perfect match for your visit.
Some of our Tour Guides have been examined to the highest standard in the UK by the Institute of Tourist Guiding and hold either the Blue or Green Badge awarded by the Insitute of Tourist Guiding. All of our guides have received additional training by ourselves and we have a brilliantly fun programme of Continuous Professional Development and days out over the winter to improve our skills and to be able to offer tours and experiences in new places.
All of our Tour Guides are insured through our own public liability insurance policy.
What is a Blue Badge Tourist Guide?
Most Blue Badge Tourist Guides are fun and all have passed written and practical exams covering UK history, sport, culture, current affairs, weather, geography and geology, rivers, National Trust and English Heritage. They have also passed local endorsements to guide in their own area and offer walking, coach and guided tours of individual buildings such as cathedrals, Town Halls, Gallery’s and football stadiums.
Blue Badge Guides are recognised by Foreign Inbound Tourist Bodies and by VisitBritain as Britain’s official tourist guides.
Why use a Guide?
A fully insured and experienced tour guide will use their own extensive local knowledge to help you see far much more in one day and they will show you lots of hidden gems. They will speak clearly avoiding jargon and they will avoid talking to your group in locations with road noise. They will help you locate the ticket offices and disabled access to buildings and ensure that the route taken is suitable for a coach and if the route includes road crossings then you can be assured that your group will be in very safe hands. Above all our guides are local and fun, they will help you take photos of your group and will answer questions at the time or if they don’t know they will be very happy to email you an answer after your visit.
